This was my very 1st 10km run. Steve, Kim, Grace and I left home at 6.00a.m. and arrived at the Putrajaya Botanical Garden at 6.30am. and we managed to find a good parking spot. We went straight to the event area and waited for the run to start.

Prior to the start of the run, the national anthems of Ireland and Malaysia were played and the Irish Ambassador flagged off for the 10km runners. We were standing right at the front near the starting line.

Steve and I ran quite near the front to with but later I started to slow down as I needed the toilet. Steve and so many runners went ahead of me. Soon, I saw Lee Wee running in front of me. We were running together for a while.

After running approximately 3 km, we arrived at our 1st water station. The organiser served mineral water and 100+ isotonic drinks. We continued to run and when I saw the 1st toilet I said, “Oh Well, I can wait”. But then I saw another toilet nearby and I said, “I needed to go now”.

When I came out from the toilet, I continued with the run and Rinnie and Virginie were behind me. This time, we ran uphill and downhill and luckily, the uphill run is not that steep and I must say, it was a pleasant run.

We reached our 2nd water station approximately after running for 5 km and the last water station at approximately 7km.

I managed to finish the run in 1 hour 20 minutes; Kim finished it in 1 hour 19 minutes and Steve finished it in 55 minutes. Later I was informed by Kim that it’s not actually 10 km run, it was less than that, i.e. only 9.3km according to her running app.

Steve's show off photo that he finished in 55 minutes.
Upon arrival at the finishing line, we were asked to go and collect our medals, Guinness Malta and apple. I went straight for my 100+ and queued up for my small cup of Milo from the Milo van. It’s a must to get your Milo from the Milo van as somehow it tasted different and reminds you of when you were in primary/secondary schools, queuing up just to have that delicious cup of Milo.

Enjoying my Milo and 100+. Guess someone from the back trying to steal my Milo.
There were booths giving out ice-creams and fried meehoon, which tasted very good.
There was also a booth selling clearance shorts, pants and T-shirts and a booth selling the GPS watches for children.

Of course there were lucky draw prizes and best dressed prizes, which we were not lucky enough to win and we did not dress up for the best dressed costume competition.

After eating and photo sessions, we left at 9.45am.

All of us feeling very satisfied after the run as the goodies bag and medal were worth it. The food and drinks were adequately provided for all the runners.
