From Dining in the Dark to Dinner in the Sky, I had to do it no matter what. What can I say, MY PASSION AND OBSESSION WITH HEIGHTS. It is not everyday you can eat your dinner by Hilton's finest chef from Germany, Chef Marc Fery, suspended in a platform, 50 metres (150 feet) above KL City skyline.
We were there an hour early and had to register ourselves. We were not allowed to choose our seats. Of course, I would very much like the seats where my back is facing the KLCC tower but we got the seats that are viewing the KLCC tower. Oh well........
We waited for more than an hour for our ride as there was a birthday dinner before ours. Our session was supposed to be 10pm. When the platform landed, they had to clean the place, make preparations and bring the ingredients onto the platform for the next dinner.
We were ushered to our seats based on our seat numbers and the crew fasten our seat belts. Then off we went at 10.45pm. We were given a brief introduction of what to do and not to do during take off.
We were then served a 5 course fine dining menu of:-
House-smoked duck breast with bean sprout salad
with 'Hoisin' vinaigrette and passionfruit drops
Tomato soup infused with double-pressed virgin olive oil,
mini herb focaccia and Irish Kelly Galway oyster
and homemade Yuzu caviar (my favourite)
Miso black cod, Thai asparagus with poached Daikon |
Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek, caramelized red onion,
carrot and green pea puree
Crunchy hazelnut and chocolate cake with exotic gel. |
VERDICT: It is certainly worth your $$ to have the dinner and to be at the platform. The experience is breathtaking and amazing and something you will never forget in a lifetime.
Will I do it AGAIN? YES, if somebody is willing to sponsor me a ticket to ride. The ticket was RM599.00 per person.
