Simply Thai Restaurant – 18 October 2017

Entrance

Mini minor to greet you at the entrance

We thought that this restaurant was going to be super busy on Deepavali but it was empty when we got there and we were the only customers at that time. Since we were the 1st customer of the day, we received full attention from the waiters and waitresses. This restaurant is non-halal. The price is quite reasonable and the taste of the food was alright.

We ordered: -

Seafood Tom Yum (large size) RM35.90. This sweet and sour soup has prawns, squid, fish and oyster mushrooms in it. The soup was not too spicy and all of us enjoyed the soup.

Chicken in Pandan leaf (large size) RM32.90. Chicken wrapped in pandan leaves and I felt the chicken was not juicy and it was a little bit tough. This dish was not appropriate for children as my kid didn’t really like it.

Stir Fry Pucuk Paku with Shrimp Paste (small size) RM15.90. This is not a spicy dish, fresh crunchy pucuk paku with the taste of shrimp.

Minced Prawn Omelet (large size) RM21.00. A simple fried egg with minced pork, prawns and sliced onions inside.

Stir Fry Pork with Basil RM16.90. Basically, minced pork fried with basil. For adults, it was not a spicy dish but for a 5 year-old it was a little bit spicy as they fried it with a bit of chili.

Fried Pork Steak (large size) RM25.90. This dish is just fried pork belly. Crunchy in certain parts.

Red Ruby in Coconut Milk RM6.90. The small reddish/pinkish jewels are water chestnut covered with tapioca flour, served with sweeten coconut milk, sliced jackfruit and shaved ice. This was my drink and not dessert.

Coconut shake RM10.90. Looks like shaved ice to me but the kids loved it.

Although the reviews were not too good on facebook, the service in this restaurant was fast. Perhaps, being the 1st customer of the day helps. There was ample parking, but we parked just right outside of the restaurant on the road. The ambiance was nice and it was nicely decorated.
