Seeri Authentic Thai Restaurant – 9 August 2017

This restaurant has been open for the past 9 years at Chow Yang. We have been here several times as the food is nice and the price is reasonable. Best thing of all NO GST and service charge. All you need to do is pay for what you order and eat. This restaurant is non-halal.

Menus pasted on the restaurant's front glass door.

The simple interior of the restaurants. Nothing fancy.

They do have a wide selection of Thai food. We ordered: -

Tom Yum Gung (medium size) RM30.00. This sweet and sour soup has prawns, squids, fish and oyster mushroom in it. For some reason, that night the tom yum wasn’t as good as other times when we were there. We felt it was watered down.

Pandan kai (8 pieces) RM3.50 each @ RM28.00. Chicken wrapped in pandan leaves and I felt it was just ok.

Som Tam RM14.00. This is a spicy, sweet and sour mango mixed with long beans, carrots, cherry tomatoes topped with nuts and sweet and sour lemon juice.

Egg Prawn (big size) RM18.00. A simple friend egg with prawns inside.

Mu Yang RM20.00. This dish is just fried pork belly.

Petai Prawn RM24.00. A reasonable amount of petai and prawn cooked together with sambal. This dish is yummy. It's not that spicy although it looked spicy.

Pucuk Paku RM14.00. A simple dish where pucuk paku is fried in oyster sauce with a bit of chilies.

Mushroom RM20.00. We were given a variety of mushrooms, i.e. oyster mushroom, chinese mushroom and button mushroom.

Fish Cake (12 pieces) RM2.50 each @ RM30.00. Fried fish cake that kids will love it.

Fried Kai (1 portion) @ RM15.00. Basically just fried chicken and this chicken was tasty.

Mango Rice (2 servings) RM15.00 each @RM30.00. This is very nice and is a must to have. The brown sticky rice was warm with lots of mangoes and condensed milk to go with it. You can choose not to add the condensed milk if you don’t want to as the mangoes are sweet.

Thapthim Krop RM6.00. The small reddish/pinkish jewels are water chestnut covered with tapioca flour, served with sweeten coconut milk, sliced jackfruit and shaved ice.

The service in this restaurant was fast. Although there is ample parking, it’s always full as there are many restaurants at the same shoplots and many people will try to find parking. The ambiance is simple and clean.
