Entrance to Farm In The City |
Farm in the City is located in Seri Kembangan and is about 25 minutes’ drive from KLCC. Animals are allowed to roam freely in their designated areas.
It was Thaipusam and we were afraid of
the crowd so we decided to meet at 9.15am at the entrance to queue and buy the
tickets. There was ample parking when we arrived but if there is no parking,
you can always park at the shopping lots opposite though you will have
to walk quite a distance.

Please take note that the entrance fees has been revised effective 1 February 2018. Please refer to their revised fees in their facebook page below |
We were given our wrist bands and a RM5
voucher (minimum spend of RM30 or above) to be spent at their Happy Farm Gift
House. A guide put on the wrist band for us and we were ready to explore.

Please take note of the daily activities |
Here are the sections that we visited (clockwise):
Tortoise and
Turtle Farm
We were given leaves to feed the
tortoises and turtles. Some of the tortoises are huge.
The first sign you will see. Turn to your left and your tour begins. |

Reptile
Cavern
We saw a python sleeping after its meal as
its tummy was bulging.
Bird Aviary
We saw some birds and pigeons flying
around. There were chickens, hens and peacocks too.
Savannah
This is one of the kids’ favourite places as you can pet the goats and feed them. All the goats were very friendly
when you have the food in front of them.
Vegetables
and Fruit Farms
We did not enter this section. There
were staircases to go down to the farm but we only viewed it from the top.
Snack Place
After the vegetable and fruit farm, you will come across a snack place for you to take a break.

Pet Village
and Longkang Fishing
The kids will have fun too by petting
those rabbits and hamsters and feeding them. After playing with the rabbits and
hamsters, the kids will automatically go and pick up a small net to catch the
fishes in a man made longkang. They provide you with buckets, so after you
successfully catch the fish, you can put them into the bucket. Once you
are done, count your fishes and remember to release them back into the
longkang.
The fishes must be very stressed with all the children and adults trying their best to catch it. Please release them back to the longkang yeah. |
Fish and Swan Feeding
You need to buy food at the machine and thereafter feed the fishes and swan. Put your money into the blue machine to be exchanged with silver tokens. The silver tokens to be used in other machines to buy fish/swan pellets, hay and can be used for pony ride.
Jungle Walk
In this section there is nothing much to see. Do not expect tigers, lions, giraffe, cheetahs or elephants.
I think they are getting bored at this section |
Twilight
Creatures
We were pretty amazed with the owls. The
owls just stood there like fake owls.
Exhibition
Hall
Kampong
Mahmood
The parrot show will be held at this
area. Nothing to shout about with the show, just parrots doing some tricks to
entertain guests.
Racoon
Somehow the raccoon place is the one
that attracts lots of people. They looked very cute and cuddly and lots of
people were feeding them.
Pony Ride
and Stable
Before you queue up for a pony ride,
which is only 1 round, go and get your kids measured and buy the tokens at the machines nearby. You won’t
miss the machines. You will need at least 7 tokens for the rides, which is RM7 per ride, per kid.
Restaurant
When you look at it, it's more of a government school canteen. However, there is another eating area which is air-conditioned. Please take note that the cushioned seats are very dirty. Since all of us are already dirty and sweaty, we didn't mind sitting on them.
The menu is on the board and you need to order at the counter. It was not really appetizing and we decided to settle only for drinks and ice creams.

Happy Farm Gift House
Since it’s open air and although there
are trees around for shading, it can still be humid. During your visit, best to
bring the following:-
- Mosquito repellant.
Believe me, some of us were bitten by mosquitoes
- A bottle of water
- Poncho or umbrella just
in case it’s raining
- Cap or hat if it’s
really sunny
- Sanitizer and wet wipes
- A change of
clothes (just in case). Once you are sweaty, you are smelly.
* If you are bringing baby, toddler or
even small kids, best to allow them to wear long pants/tights and t-shirt with
sleeve to avoid mosquito bites.
Overall
& Verdict
- You need at least 2 ½ -
3 hours at the farm
- A great place to
entertain your kids
- An educational tour
- Best not to have your meal there as it’s not really appetizing when you look at the menu
- The kids will definitely want to go back there again
