Miss Ellie Tea House – 28 October 2016

Entrance to Miss Ellie Tea House
Miss Ellie Tea House is a very popular café for those staying in Melawati. This café is tucked away in the housing area of Taman Melawati and was established and named after the owner’s poodle, Ellie that has since passed on.

Ellie, the owners' beloved poodle
Once you are inside the café, it feels like you are in a little cottage, not a café. It’s beautifully decorated with antiques and unique decorations.

A very small cafe with limited tables. First come first served basis

The decor

This café serves Western food, cakes, pastries and scones. These are the things that we ordered:

Tea Smoked Salmon Salad RM15.50
As you can see, everything was fresh. There was lettuce, sliced cucumber, cherry tomato and it was topped up with sliced salmon, bread and sesame seeds.
Chicken Parmigiana RM17.50
The way they made it, it tasted like pizza Margarita with the topping on the breaded chicken fillet. As for the salad, it was just lettuce, sliced cucumber and carrot, cherry tomatoes and with minimal vinegar as dressing.

Spagheti Pesto Prawns RM20.50
This was actually my favourite! Spaghetti with pesto sauce. As you can see, they added mushroom, cherry tomatoes (which was actually cooked with it) and reasonable sized prawns.
Our cakes for the day (L-R and bottom): DChoc Hazel slice RM6.50, Victoria Sandwich RM8.50 and White Chocolate Chip Red Velvet RM6.50
The cakes are pretty moist and not too sweet. Just to our liking. My favourite was the DChoc, followed by Red Velvet. Just choose your cakes from the table near you.

From (L-R) fresh juice concoction of the day, i.e. papaya, apple & guava RM7.50, orange juice RM7.50, lemonade RM5.00 and Afternoon Blend (Teapot for One) RM6.50

The service in this restaurant is fast and the price is reasonable for a café.

You can easily park your car outside the shop lots, as there is ample parking.
