Second Dose of AstraZenica Vaccination – 19 July 2021 at World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur

 

I got the 2^nd appointment date shortly after our Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin announced that the waiting period for the second dose will be shortened from 12 weeks to 9 weeks.

This time, I parked my car at Sunway Putra Mall. There were lots of parking spaces available. Once you are out from the mall, take a 5 minute walk on the overhead covered bridge to World Trade Centre. Let’s take you step by step the moment you arrive: -

Once you are out from Sunway Putra Mall, follow the signs

Continue for 5 minutes

Step 1 

Find the sign for 1^st dose or 2^nd dose. Do not be scared when you see the crowd. These people are queuing up for their first dose. No queue for second dose.

Before entering WTC, make sure you have updated your profile by answering all the questions

Step 2

You are guided straight to the hall. A person will check your details on MySejahtera. Then you will be ushered inside to the registration table. Pass them your vaccination card and the person will key the details inside the computer to verify your details. You will be given a small piece of paper to fill in your name and NRIC.

Continue to walk inside. Just like VIP treatment. Those people seated are waiting for their 1st dose

You will be asked to be seated and to wait for an empty room to be vaccinated.

Once inside the room, the medical officer explained to me thoroughly from A-Z. He said I can take pictures but not videos, even though there were signs saying no photography and videoing. I made sure I opened my eyes big big to see that the vaccine injected inside me.

Step 5

Go out from the room and you will be asked to be seated for observation. Here, they will hand out a small piece of paper for you to fill in the details into the vaccination card. They will brief you that you will receive your digital certificate.

Take a nice picture, “Saya telah lengkap 2 dos” before you leave and put hashtags #cucukmyaz when you post it on social media.  

 

Exit WTC and I was at the Seri Pacific Hotel entrance. Went up the escalator and walked back to Sunway Putra Mall to pick up my car. My parking fee was RM2.00 since I’m a member of Pals for Life by Sunway. Please redeem it at the customer service at ground floor. Till next time…..in the event we need a booster jab.

 

 

 

First Dose of AstraZenica Vaccination – 17 May 2021 at World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur

 

If you had already registered under MySejahtera for vaccination, you were entitled to register as a volunteer for the AstraZeneca vaccination which was removed from the main program.  The option  to volunteer was made available at 12p.m. on 2 May 2021 on https://www.vaksincovid.gov.my/ on a first come first served basis.

After a lot of technical issues, my husband managed to secure a spot by around 12.20pm. He managed to get an appointment on 12 May, 10a.m at World Trade Centre (WTC). Since he was lucky enough, I asked him to register for me and he managed to get me an appointment on 17 May, 7pm. Since I was ok with the date and time, I confirmed my appointment.

I arrived at 5.45pm and left the WTC at 7.50pm. Let’s take you step by step from the moment you arrive: -

Step 1

I managed to get nice parking at the basement car park of the WTC. Just walked out to the main entrance and followed the signs posted everywhere.

Step 2

There will be police and army everywhere and lots of people. CIMB Bank will be on the ground floor. Go and look for your Station (specified in your MySejahtera) and start queuing. From time to time, you will hear announcements. If you are late for your appointment, go to the front. There is also a specific lane for OKU and elderly citizens.

Upon entering the main entrance, scan your MySejahtera and take your temperature as normal. Continue to queue inside the building, in accordance to your allocated Station.

You will be lead on. You will see the boutique Ariani on your right side. This time they will lead you to your seats.

Once seated, again, you will be asked to scan MySejahtera. Someone will announce to you and tell you what to do.

 

Step 4

You will be asked to take the escalators to Aras 4. Enter the main hall (Dewan Merdeka) take your  temperature and continue queuing. You will be given two (2) sets of consent forms and a number. You will be ushered to your seat and are requested to fill the form. Please bring your own pen. Also, please bring your jacket, if you are unable to stand the coldness in the hall.

Step 5

Once your number is called, proceed to another hall for registration. Please show your appointment on your MySejahtera. You will be asked to click the vaccine appointment on your MySejahtera.

Step 6

After registration, you will be asked to see the medical officer. The medical officer will ask you about your medical conditions and whether you have ever had any allergic reactions to medication. The medical officer will also explain the side effects that you may encounter and what to do if you develop the side effects. Once you agree to give consent, sign the form in front of the medical officer and the medical officer will also sign.

You will be asked to be seated and wait for your turn to be jabbed. You will be guided to the cubicle. And voila …… Please ask permission from your nurse whether can video or take pictures yeah. No pain at all when jabbed. Once done, go outside and scan the code in front of the cubicle to indicate that you have received the first dose of the vaccination.

Step 8

Take the escalator downstairs. You will be asked to go to the front counter to hand over your consent form and you will be given a vaccination card. Please fill up your name and NRIC. Again, they will brief you on what to look out for and will give you a time as to what time you can leave since they need to observe you (normally 15 or 30 mins). They will inform you that you will need to bring the consent form and vaccination card for your next appointment of second dose.

Step 9

Sit down at the observation area. By now, you should feel a bit of a sore arm. Once time is up (stated on your vaccination card), you can leave.

Step 11

Buy food and drinks if you want after you exit the main hall. 

Exit the way you came in. Pay for your parking ticket at the counter. Mine was RM5.00.

(a) a pen ( you may not want to share a pen with someone else); and

(b) a jacket or cardigan (in case the hall is too cold for you).
