The new BMW X5 x Drive40e iPerformance - 26 June 2016

The launch of the new X5 from Auto Bavaria.

As a White Card member of BMW, I was invited for the test drive. I registered for it as it was at Ilham Tower, just opposite our condo. But I gave away the opportunity to test drive to Mr. Kum as I prefer to be driven.

Our session was between 4-7pm. We arrived at 4.30pm and were ushered to the registration counter.

After registration, we were asked to take a seat and relax. The organiser said we will be given a briefing of the car, then test drive!!

Briefing session

We were served with finger food and drinks prepared by La Bodega.

I guess that not very many people turned up, so we were moved to an earlier test drive slot without the need to go for the briefing of the car.

We were given car no.7. Steve drove and then later Mr. Kum. Salaree and I were seated at the back.

The journey from Jalan Binjai, using the MEX highway to Sri Petaling and u-turn back. We were in a convoy with police escort and no staff from BMW to sit beside us during the test drive, which was quite nice. A 20 minute journey, as if you owned the car!!! WOW!!

After the test drive, we were asked to view and observe how they made the fabric safety belt and were later presented with a small gift, which in my view was just leftover safety belt sewn into some kind of wallet! Also, we were asked to fill up a survey form.

The price OTR - RM388,800 after government rebate. EXPENSIVE!!!

Fete De La Musique Et European Football Fever 2016 – 18 June 2016

Viva Vertical was invited to perform for this event at the Square, Publika.

We were rehearsing early in the morning before the crowds arrived at 8.30am. Luckily Noah brought his mini speakers and we were able to practice as the sound system was not switched on yet.

Our show was scheduled to start at 8.00pm but we only started at about 8.20pm.

Miko started off with her aerial net, followed by our routine “Glad you came”, a combination of hoop and silk. Thereafter, we had Sheila, Noah and Mai on silk and lastly Squido, Samantha, Angel and Elena on the cube.

We had an amazing time although there were so many pillars and obstructions blocking the audience views and it was not so crowded compared to the last time we performed there.

Hong Kong Disneyland - 3 June 2016

Suet May managed to find good deals from klooks.com - a package for a Special 1 day ticket + meal coupon. We bought 3 adult tickets and 2 child tickets for RM1,235.00 and a normal ticket for RM258.00 (without meal). The special package only applicable for citizens from certain countries and sadly, UK was not one of them. So Steve had to pay for the full price ticket.

We took the MTR from Jordan to Sunny Bay. At Sunny Bay, we had to board a special Disney train to Disneyland resort.

Special Disney train
Upon arrival, everyone took pictures at the entrance to Disneyland. We joined the crowd and took pictures too.
Entrance to Hong Kong Disneyland
It was a long walk to the entrance of Disneyland, i.e. to the ticketing counter, approximately 5 minutes’ walk. If you pre-booked your tickets, there are machines to scan your code. Once the code have been scanned, the machine will print Disneyland entrance tickets and your meal voucher tickets.

The long walk

Once we entered Disneyland, as usual we were greeted by the big grass Mickey Mouse head. You can obtain the map to Disneyland at the side of the entrance before proceeding to Main Street USA.

We saw Mickey and Minnie at the entrance. There was a queue to take pictures with them. Patrick, Steve and I decided to queue. After about 15 minutes, it was not moving that fast and Suet May said she tried to take pictures with Chip & Dale instead (for which there was no queue) but was informed that the photo session had ended. Suet May said let’s move on and don’t bother queuing for Mickey and Minnie. True enough, the session ended and there was still a long queue.

We proceeded to the Disney shops at the Main Street USA to check out on the Disney merchandise and decide what to buy and what not.
