Big Bob Burger & Coffee – 26 March 2017

The entrance

See, so empty.
We came here to celebrate Erine’s birthday. We chose this restaurant as it was very quiet and we knew we'd be able to have the place to ourselves.

Menu

Check out their signature burgers. Their signature burgers are supposed to be big !!

The fast food burgers. A smaller version of the signature burgers

We ordered:-

Wild Mushroom Soup RM6.90. Not bad, quite creamy.

Grill Chicken Creaser Salad RM14.90. Just normal lettuce, grilled chicken, croutons, topped with Parmesan cheese. There is a simple dressing but I was unable to tell what it was. However, the salad was just ordinary.

Fresh Mushroom Pizza RM25.90. 8 slices of crispy thin pizza covered with melted cheese and sliced button mushrooms.

Spaghetti with grilled chicken RM19.90. Dried spaghetti (no sauce at all), topped with grill ed chicken, mushroom and Parmesan cheese. I do not recommend this at all. It's just  plain spaghetti and you can even make it yourself at home. Truly not satisfying at all.....

Most wanted (beef) RM25.90. This is one of their signature burgers. Homemade burger bun, cheddar cheese, beef breakfast slice, tomato, romain, handmade patties, Bob's BBQ sauce, mustard, ketchup & mayonnaise.  The burger is big, nice for 2 persons and best to share. It tasted alright too. You will be given transparent plastic gloves to hold your burger so that your hands won't be messy.

Most wanted (chicken) RM25.90

Super Duper Chicken RM28.90. This is also one of their signature burgers. Homemade burger bun, cheddar cheese, beef breakfast sliced, tomato, romain, handmade patties, Bob's BBQ sauce, mustard, egg, fried prawn, ketchup & mayonnaise.

Overall, if you visit this restaurant, it is best to order their signature burgers and try them out yourself. Their cheaper version burgers look like those burgers from the fast food outlets.

Will I come back here again..........hmmmmmm

Disney On Ice – 24 March 2017

The first Disney On Ice I went to was more than 10 years ago. I remember enjoying myself there and the finale, where paper Mickey Mouse heads were falling from the ceiling of the Bukit Jalil Indoor stadium.

When I saw the advertisement last year for Disney On Ice 2017, I decided to buy the tickets as soon as they opened for sale.

The organiser had shows on 24 March 2017 – 26 March 2017 at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam. I decided to go for the 1st show on 24 March 2017 (Friday) at 7.30pm. We bought the Category 2 tickets – RM159.80 for each ticket (after a 30% discount).

There was ample parking when we arrived. There were booths selling Disney merchandise but the merchandise wasn’t cheap at all.

We found our seats at about 7.25pm and the show only started at 7.45pm. Prior to the show, there were 3 skaters that came out to entertain us. When the show started, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and friends came out and greeted the audience. Thereafter we were brought to the magical world of:-

The Lion Guard (Lion King)
Snow White
Aladdin
Little Mermaid
Rapunzel
Toy Story (after an intermission)
Nemo
Frozen

Frozen

For each and every story above, they presented a snippet of the most popular songs and scenes. The skaters skated around with their heavy costumes and the kids were super excited and the ones that enjoyed it the most. Some kids even dressed up as their favourite characters.

Overall, it was enjoyable and entertaining for the whole family.

Hello Kitty Town and Thomas Town – 21 March 2017

If you have been to Legoland Johor, your trip will not be complete until you have also been to Hello Kitty Town and Thomas Town.  These are indoor parks within one building with activities for the kids.

The tickets are pricey as well but not as pricey as Legoland:

* 20% discounts will be given if you produce your MyKad, MyKid and MyPR.

There are 3 levels in the building:-

Level 1 – Sanrio Hello Kitty Town

So what is inside Hello Kitty Town? It’s only 1 floor and you can cover it all very fast. There is a Hello Kitty Tea Cup ride, Hello Kitty’s house (which has a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, playroom), Hello Kitty in Oz, Dream Photo Garden (photos while dressed up as Hello Kitty) and an activities room, i.e. cookie decorating, paper bag decorating, colouring a button badge and dressing up in character’s costumes. You will be given a card to get your Hello Kitty stamps (whichever activities that you have visited and completed, you will be given a stamp on your card and you cannot repeat the said activity).

Level 2 – Bob the Builder, Barney, Angelina Ballerina and Pingu

There is Angelina’s Dance Studio (where kids can learn a dance routine), Bob’s Can-Do-Crew, Bob the Builder Play Structure, Barney’s Playhouse and Pingu’s Igloo.

Level 3 – Thomas Town

The rides were the Knapford Station Thomas Train Ride, Colin Crane Drop Ride, Bertie the Bus, Harold’s Helitours Ride and Windmill Ride.

Barney show

* There is daily entertainment on each floor and you must obtain their latest leaflet and entertainment schedule to check the times.

Once you have completed the 3 levels of entertainment, you can drop by their souvenir shops to get merchandise for your kids and try out the Red Bow Café (near the ticket counters).

Overall, a great place to entertain your kids. If you stay for all activities, you will need the whole day. If your kids just go for the rides, you will be able to complete the 3 levels before lunch time. We stayed from 10am till 2pm and managed to do most of the rides and participated all activities at Hello Kitty Town. The best thing is, the weather is so hot in Puteri Harbour and the park is air-cond. There is also ample parking within the building and it’s free.
