A fusion restaurant in Ampang Point Shopping Center, serving Western and local foods. They tried to be creative in their food, however, the food was just alright and basic. Nothing to really shout about.

These were the things that we ordered:

Kids' set spaghetti RM10.50. 

There was not much sauce for the spaghetti. They should have given tomato sauce for kids and not chili sauce. A very basic dish for the kids.

Cheezy Chicken Steak RM15.90. 

A piece of fried chicken steak, and dipped it with the cheeze and mayonaise. It's very similar to cheezy wedges from KFC.

Burger Banjir RM16.90. 

You are supposed to pour the sauce onto the burger. However, you need to taste the sauce first before pouring it to the burger. The sauce tasted like tom yum and you can taste the spices.

Lemon Mint (refillable) RM5.00. 

Their selection of cakes RM9.00 per slice 

The service in this restaurant is fast (perhaps as we were there at 9.15pm, when it was almost closing time). The price is reasonable for Western food.

You can easily park your car inside Ampang Point Shopping Center or the busy square outside the shopping mall.

Blues and Bees Restaurant – 7 October 2016

This was my 2^nd visit to Blues and Bees and sadly, on both occasions, it was not crowded and the waiters and waitresses were trying their best to bring in customers. Something that you don’t expect on a Friday and Saturday night at Bukit Bintang! We chose this restaurant as it was nearby Parkroyal Hotel. 

This is an American restaurant, serving steaks, seafood, burgers, salads, side dishes (onion rings, nachos, fries, calamari rings). It is also a pork-free place. You can never miss this place as the interior of the restaurant is nicely done up. The chairs and tables form a car from the 60s!! Imagine that you are going back to the era of the “Happy Days” sitcom. That was how I felt when dining here.

These were the food that we ordered:

Nachos - RM16.90. Nothing to shout about. It was below average for me. 

Prawn Caesar Salad - RM29.90. Looks and taste dry with lots of Parmesan cheese.

New York Strip Steak- RM49.90. The steak was quite dry. It tasted like it was already pre-cooked. My husband asked for rare and some parts were well done. 

Onion Rings - RM7.90

The service in this restaurant is fast (perhaps as there were not many customers). The price is reasonable, inclusive of food and drinks (non-alcoholic), approximately RM50 per person (including tax).   

You can easily park your car at Lot 10 or you can use the monorail and stop at Bukit Bintang.

Club Med Cherating (Part II) - 11-14 September 2016

This was my 2nd experience in Club Med Cherating. Of course, having been here before, we knew what to expect and we managed to do the activities we didn’t do the last time. For more information on my 1st trip to Club Med Cherating, please go to:

This time round, our room (Belalang block) was pretty far from the main area. However, the air-cond was much better and internet in the room was good.

Food wise, there were slight improvements from the previous year in terms of quality. This time, snacks were being served nearby the bar and they were always making sure that the guests had enough to eat.  

The highlight of my visit would be the trapeze and Mini Club.  

In Malaysia, you can only do the trapeze in Club Med, where the GO will guide you and teach you new tricks. You can also do trapeze in Escape, Penang but they will only teach you the basic knee hang.

We were grateful to meet James (chief of circus), Susan, Kevin, Lisa (LJ) and Tammy, the friendly, patient Circus GOs team, always providing us with their invaluable guidance to do the tricks and catches well. As I’ve done several tricks before from different Club Med villages, they know which tricks to teach me next! I was very fortunate to meet this bubbly, energetic team. Watch them perform at night in aerial silk, hoop, net and trapeze as they will put up amazing and spectacular aerial shows. Their performances are flawless. You have to be there to know what I mean.

We did the:-

(a)         tree top challenge, which was interesting. If you have done tree top challenges before at Skytrex, Malaysia this tree top challenge in Club Med, is pretty basic. If you are a first timer, it will be lots of fun for the whole family;

(b)               sailing, best activity to relax and enjoy the breeze of the sea where the GO will be the one controlling the sail;

(c)                archery, always a long queue but worth the wait as training will be provided by Fabreze, a very good archer;

(d)               rock climbing, this was my 2^nd time doing it here and there are a few routes for you to climb for beginner, intermediate and advanced. No matter what, it’s still a friendly climb, suitable for everyone of all ages. Everyone can climb up to the top, with the help of Alan and Adam, the 2 friendly GOs that will help you up. So, no worries if you have no experience in climbing at all as they will ensure and guide you as to which cracks in the rock to hold and grip.

We also enjoyed the Zen pool. However, it was not that quiet this time for a peaceful swim. We were informed that it was peak season.

Good timing as there were not many people

As for the Mini Club, it provides fun-filled activities every day for the kids. My little 4-year-old girl enjoyed it very much. She cried at the beginning; however the GOs, Chicken, Jor and Edi managed to calm her down. In the end she participated in the activities, trapeze, swimming, dying t-shirt, visit to turtle sanctuary, etc. The highlight for her was the performance of a dance to her favourite Frozen song, “Let It Go”. We managed to record her performance and she has been watching it all over again and again and again…

As a 4-year-old, we thought that she would chicken out from the trapeze as not many kids at that age will dare to climb up so high and swing down from the platform. Thanks again to the Circus GOs that gave her so much encouragement and making it possible for her to fly and swing down from the platform. She did it for 2 days and she wanted to do it for the 3^rd day but we were informed that the trapeze was closed for maintenance. She was disappointed but I told her that we will go back to Club Med again.

Kudos to the GOs of Club Med Cherating for a fantastic job and fabulous holiday! We made new friends and it was great to meet up with other GO, Duanwisa (whom we met from our previous visit to Club Med Phuket and Bali). We had a great time at Club Med Cherating and will definitely be returning to the next Club Med village. The family vacation that gives you the 110% satisfaction and happiness throughout your stay.
