Swiss Dream Circus – 8 October 2017

So having performed in Cre organized by Viva Circus the week before, this time I got to sit down and watch other circus performers perform for me.

Swiss Dream Circus is in town from 29 September to 22 October 2017 at Jalan Persiaran 2, Desa Parkcity. There are a lot of organisers like Bonuslink, Fave, Firefly and Astro giving discounts of 20-30% from the original price of the tickets. All you need to do is type in your promotion code when purchasing the tickets. My ticket was RM78 and after deducting the 25% discount, it was only RM58.50 per person and we got good seats as the tent was small. The best thing was that there was air-condition inside the tent.

Before you go inside the tent for the performance, you can get food right outside the tent, such as popcorn, candy floss, cookies, drinks, snacks and small toys.

Cookies were about RM5 each
Our show was supposed to start at 4pm but only started at 4.10pm as they were waiting for the crowds to come in.

The stage is set
The show began with a short speech and thereafter 2 clowns came out. One of them was demonstrating his skills on the rope.

Then a lady came out and sang for us live to accompany the flying pole act. In this act, you will see lots of climbing and spinning on the pole.

We found the ladder act boring but in the end, we were amazed as to how he managed to balance on the ladder. There were a few times, we thought that he would fall down and even when he did, it was well covered up.

Then the singing lady came in again on a swinging trapeze. We thought that she was going to sing all the way through but later she performed stunts in the air that shocked us.

There was also spinning acro balance, which was interesting to watch.

There was an intermission of 15 minutes for us to stretch our legs, get some snacks and go to the WC.

After the intermission, the fun continued with duo straps and roller shoes, where both couples performed defying acts that you will not take your eyes of them.

There were also hula hoops where she could spin about 15 hoops around her body at one time.

Lastly, a man on flying trapeze, swinging from one trapeze to the other. He also did stunts by walking upside down. He was wearing shoes and perhaps the shoes are the one that helped him to grip better on the rings. He was also walking with his whole head covered!!

Covered his head with black cloth
In between those aerial acts and stunts, there was the main clown that came out to entertain the guests.

After the show, the audience was introduced to the performers and not all of them were from Switzerland. The performers came from Russia and other European cities. They came out to take pictures with the audience.

Overall, it was an interesting performance and I do recommend the show.

* As for parking, if you want to park right outside the tent, please be there early, otherwise, there is ample parking at Plaza Arkadia. It’s an empty piece of land nearby and the parking attendant charged RM3.00 per entry.

Atria Makan Fun Run 2017

  • 8 October 2017
  • Atria Shopping Gallery
  • Flagged off at:-
7.30 a.m. for 5km
  • Price – RM74.00 for twin (early bird) for 5km
  • Running Kit – T-shirt and registration bib
  • Goodies – Medal and vouchers. Along the run, runners will picked-up drinks, jellies, etc

I did not join this run as it clashed with the BMW Wheelcorp Premium Charity Run 2017. My sister-in-law, Kim joined this run with my little girl, Salaree and it was her 1st 5km run.

Salaree came home as a happy girl and started showing off her medal and ate all her snacks. The vouchers were given by the merchants from Atria and some vouchers can only be used on the run day and vouchers can only be used at merchants’ Atria outlets.

As I wasn’t there to run and witness the events, the pictures below said it all:-

So happy to receive her very 1st 5km medal

BMW Wheelcorp Premium Charity Run 2017

  • 8 October 2017
  • BMW Setia Alam
  • Flagged off at:-
6.45 a.m. for 10km
7.00a.m. for 4.5km
  • Price – RM80.00 for 10km & RM65.00 for 4.5km
  • Running Kit – T-shirt, vouchers and registration bib
  • Goodies – Medal and bun

I joined this run because of the medal. I made my husband run 10km as the medal was bigger than that for the 4.5km.

If you are staying in KL, driving all the way to Setia Alam can be a pain just to collect the running kit. In future, I don’t think I would like to travel so far just to pick it up.

We arrived at 6.15am and went into the BMW showroom to view the cars and take pictures. There were simple warm-up exercises on stage but we didn’t really join.

War-up exercises

All getting ready for the 4.5km run
The organiser flagged off the 10km sharp at 6.45am. After they were flagged off, the 2nd session of warm-up exercises was conducted on stage for the 4.5km runners, and thereafter we were flagged off sharp at 7.00am. We ran past a Chinese school and housing area on quiet roads. There was 1 water station for the 4.5km runners after running for 3km where they served water and isotonic drink.

Upon arrival at the finishing line, we were give a bun and medal. We did not wait for the lucky draw to start as there were too many people waiting for it. Overall, there was nothing fun or exciting in this run. But if you are a fan of BMW, then it’s worth going.

Advertising for BMW. Hope to win some goodies, since I posted on Instagram

The big medal for 10km and small medal for 4.5km

There were also food trucks selling food and drinks.
